Natural Legacy wool caskets are a beautiful and comforting alternative to a traditional casket. Gentle on the eye and soft to the touch. Natural Legacy wool caskets, infant wool crib caskets and wool ash Urns are loved by families a more personalised farewell.
Suitable for burial and cremation, the non-traditional casket shape, combined with the soft, strokable finish, allows a more relatable and less “final” experience for those left behind and can be comforting to sensitive and younger members at a service.
Available at selected funeral homes upon request,
Gentle on the eye and soft to the touch.
With three whole fleeces of wool in each casket, Natural Legacy Caskets and urns are crafted with the utmost precision and attention to detail.
Natural Legacy wool caskets, infant woollen crib caskets and ash urns are completed with a delicately stitched personalised nameplate that can be neatly attached to the casket using two wooden toggles. A smaller, more personalised plate can be supplied for the head of the casket, which many families keep and find consoling following the service.
The wool ash urn from Natural Legacy is a soft and multifunctional piece, the ashes are supplied back to the bereaved family with a secondary internal box, which can then be removed for scattering or burial, leaving the tactile outer to be used as a memory box holding precious moments and treasures belonging to the deceased.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Where can I get a natural Legacy casket from?
Natural Legacy is available at all funeral homes on request. Exquisite Wool Traders are the distributor of the Natural Legacy range, so we are unable to supply direct to customers. Please talk to your funeral service provider and they can arrange for a casket to be delivered to them from us, if they don't already stock the range.
What colours do they come in?
The Natural Legacy range comes in Wool White and Limestone Grey.
What sizes do they come in?
There are various sizes to accomodate all needs, including Child Caskets, and three larger sizes. Ash Urns are also available.
How do the nameplates work?
Natural Legacy Caskets and Urns have nameplates that can accompany the casket and urn. Nameplates sit at the front and top of the casket and the top of the urn. These can be embroidered with the loved ones name, in their favourite colour. It is a nice touch and can be kept after the service as they can be taken off the casket. Embroidery is organised via the funeral home and not Exquisite Wool Traders.
How much are Natural Legacy Caskets and Urns?
Natural Legacy is priced at a very similar rate to wooden caskets, with the exact price varying between funeral homes. Please ask your local funeral home for pricing.
What are they made from?
Our Natural Legacy range consists of three whole fleeces of New Zealand wool, and are handcrafted by a dedicated team of sewers.
The woollen outer layer is carefully hand fitted around a strong 100% recycled cardboard frame, which is reinforced with an MDF base board for rigidity and stability, and then carefully lined with a soft woollen wadding for a mattress base.
Each casket interior is generously lined with cotton, attractively edged with jute and completed with a soft cotton covered and wool filled pillow, while the exterior is finished with a beautiful blanket stitch detail, jute handles and simple wooden toggle fastenings.
What certifications do they have?
Our caskets have been FFMA approved and are suitable for burial and cremation. The caskets have been tested to lift up to 266kg in weight. They are also acceptable for eco funerals
What is the ash urn?
The Ash Urn from Natural Legacy is soft and multifunctional, the ashes are received by the family within a secondary internal box, which can then be removed for scattering or buried, leaving the tactile outer to be used as a memory box holding precious moments and treasures.
